Day 8 (10/26/2014)

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness -  1 Timothy 2:1-2

Key: PR (Praise), IN (Intercession), CF (Confession), SG (Spiritual Growth), MN (Ministry Needs)

IN: We pray today for our nation. Ask God to bless America with peace, security, and stability.  Pray that our leaders might have wisdom as they make difficult decisions. Ask the Father to bless those who are in the Armed Forces who are seeking to protect us.

IN: We especially pray for revival in our nation, that Americans might be shaken out of their spiritual complacency and might truly trust in God; that our culture might turn from its preoccupation with unholy things towards godliness.

SG: We ask for wisdom and strength to be salt and light in our world.

MORNING PRAYER

Eternal Father of my soul, let my first thought today be of You, let my first impulse be to worship You, let my first speech be Your name, let my first action be to kneel before You in prayer.

   For Your perfect wisdom and perfect goodness;
   for the love with which You love mankind;
   for the love with which You love me;
   for the great and mysterious opportunity of my  life;
   for the indwelling of Your Spirit in my life;
   I praise you and worship You, O Lord.

Yet let me not, when this morning prayer is said, think my worship ended and spend the day in forgetfulness of You. Rather from these moments of quietness let light go forth, and joy, and power, that will remain with me through all the hours of the day.
