DAY 40 (THUR., 11/24)

"Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God, trust also in me.  In my father's house are many rooms:  if it were not so, I would have told you.

I am going there to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."  -John 14:1-4.

"Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven....." -  2 Corinthians 5: 1

PR (Praise), IN (Intercession), CF (Confession), SG (Spiritual Growth), MN (Ministry Needs)

PR:  Thank You, Father, for all the material blessings we have received:  for our freedom, our jobs, our homes, the abundant food on our tables, and all of the good things we enjoy here in America.

PR:   Ultimately we give you the highest praise for providing our salvation, so that we may spend eternity in heaven with you.  We thank you for creating a place where you will wipe away every tear (Revelation 7:17) and an occasion where we will see your face and our faith will be "by sight" (Revelation 22:4).

IN:  Father, help us keep our eyes on the prize.   Give us a hunger for heaven, and help us not become weighed down with earthly cares and worries, or distracted by the pleasures and possessions of this world.  Fill us with the joy of our salvation, the contentment of gratitude, and the peace that passes all understanding.

PR:  Father, we thank you so very much for sending your Son to earth to live, die and be resurrected for us.  This Gift of your Son is a gift so great that our mere utterance of thanksgiving seems so inadequate.

IN:  Lord, we pray for boldness that we may let others know that we are your children.  We pray that we wil seek opportunities to spread the news of Jesus as we go through the everyday activities of life.

MN:  We ask that you will bless our Bible school teachers, our Growth Group leaders, our foreign missionaries, those who conduct personal Bible studies, our World Bible School workers, our ministers and all who are involved in any way in spreading your Word.

IN:  Give us the faith to ask for your healing.  Grant us the faith to know that your power is not a power of the past, but a power of the present.

IN:  We ask your blessings upon the care givers.  For the   doctors, nurses, ministers, and those who visit in homes and hospitals, we ask that you bless them as they go about their daily duties.  Give them wisdom as they use their skills, and patience as they deal with those who suffer.

MN:  Lord we ask your blessing upon those who do need your physical healing.  We ask that you will heal their diseases and infirmities.  Give them comfort, strength, and healing.

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

PR (Praise), IN (Intercession), CF (Confession), SG (Spiritual Growth), MN (Ministry Needs)

MN:   Pray for our Growth Groups as they meet tomorrow to discuss why there is suffering in the world, that we will gain understanding and perspective on this difficult topic.

SG:   Father, when we realize that even Moses was reluctant at first to speak up for you, we recognize that we are not alone with our fears and reservations. From his example of receiving strength for leadership, help us to learn that you will give us the power and ability we need to carry out your work.

CF:  We confess that we are not always as bold as we should be in speaking up for Christ; that we have not always taken the opportunities given us to share our faith. Give us more courage and more compassion for those who are unsaved.

IN:  Ask God's blessings today on the older members of our church family, that they might continue to be examples to us in faith, hope, and love. We pray the Lord will bless them physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

SG:   Deliver us from the fear of failure and instead give us a passion for faithfulness;  help us to obey You fully without worrying about what others think or relying on our own strength.
